Story
Céline Dubois arrived in Port Vesper as a pianist and stayed as the owner of the only salon where every family would agree to sit. Her rooms have three rules, written on a small card by the door: no weapons, no raised voices, no unfinished sentences. A silver bowl by the door keeps everyone's phone. The card has never been broken. She does not take sides; she takes notes, and she lets the notes work. Families have ended feuds across her tea table that had cost a dozen funerals. The Old Man once said that Madame could have run the Grand Table herself, if she wanted the noise. She did not. She prefers to be the person people forgive after they have told the truth. Her Letter arrived on the one night in a decade when the salon was empty. She placed it on the piano, read it twice and closed the lid. The next morning she opened the doors a little earlier than usual.
